Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah (transl.&#;"Taarak Mehta's Inverted Spectacles"), often abbreviated as TMKOC, is an Indian sitcom based on the weekly column Duniya Ne Undha Chasma by Tarak Mehta for the magazine Chitralekha. Produced by Asit Kumarr Modi, it is one of the longest-running television series in India. The series premiered on 28 July on Sony SAB and is also digitally available on SonyLIV.[1] The series has garnered national attention and has developed a substantial following over the years and regarded as a cult classic.[2][3]

Mandar Chandwadkar (born 27 July ) is an Indian television and film actor who works in Hindi and Marathi television. He is best known for playing the role of Aatmaram Tukaram Bhide in the Sony SAB's long running comedy series Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah.[2][3][4]

Chandwadkar was born in Marathi family in Mumbai, Maharashtra and attended R.M. Bhatt High School in Parel, Mumbai. He graduated from the Guru Nanak Khalsa College of Arts, Science & Commerce, in Matunga Mumbai.[5] He worked as a mechanical engineer in Dubai for three years ().[6] He left the job to pursue a career in acting. He is married to Snehal Chandwadkar, with whom he has a son named Parth.[5][7][8][9]
In , Chandwadkar formed his own theatre groups called Pratibimb and performed in three Hindi / Marathi comedies. He has directed several one-act plays.
