Máxima[a] (born Máxima Zorreguieta[b] on 17 May ) is Queen of the Netherlands as the wife of King Willem-Alexander.
Argentine by birth, she worked in finance when she met Willem-Alexander, eldest son and heir apparent of Queen Beatrix, in They married in , and became king and queen on the abdication of her mother-in-law on 30 April Máxima has promoted social integration of immigrants, LGBTQ rights, and financial inclusion. She and Willem-Alexander have three daughters, Princesses Catharina-Amalia, Alexia, and Ariane, who are first, second, and third, respectively, in the line of succession.

Máxima enrolled at the Catholic University of Argentina after completing secondary school. After graduating, she worked in New York from to She met the Dutch Crown prince at a party in the Spanish city of Sevilla and moved to Brussels less than a year later.
In Máxima Zorreguieta officially became a Dutch citizen on her birthday. Princess Máxima and Prince Willem-Alexander married on 2 February at the Beurs van Berlage in Amsterdam. the church ceremony occurred at the Nieuwe Kerk. Due to his part in the regime of Jorge Videla, her father was not welcome at the wedding.
The newly married couple moved into a house on Noordeinde square in The Hague and, in the spring of , moved to villa Eikenhorst on De Horsten Estate in Wassenaar. They have three children: Princess Amalia (7 December ), Princess Alexia (26 June ) and Princess Ariane (10 April ).
