REPORTER AT LARGE about Else Blangsted, a Hollywood music editor, who was born in Germany. In 1937, at age 17, while she was at school in Switzerland, she gave birth to an illegitimate child. She was falsely told that the baby died. Later that year she left Germany because of the Nazi threat to Jews. It was arranged for her to go to Los Angeles. Tells about the various jobs she held until she finally got into the film business & ultimately became a highly regarded music editor. She married the man who was the baby's father & they had a daughter. They were later divorced. She married Folmar Blangsted in 1960. He died in 1982. She never knew that her first baby had lived. Her mother, disliking scandal, arranged for the baby to be adopted. The child was adopted by a well-to-do Lausanne couple & became known as Lily.
