Dancing with the Stars is a New Zealand television dance contest based on the British TV series Strictly Come Dancing and is part of the Dancing with the Stars franchise. The show introduces New Zealand celebrities paired with professional ballroom dancers who each week compete against each other in a competition to impress a panel of judges and the viewing public in order to survive potential elimination. Through a telephone poll, viewers vote for those couples who should stay. The public vote and the average score given by the panel of judges equally go towards deciding who should leave. Proceeds from the voting go to the celebrity contestant's charity of choice.

Biography[]
Twenty years ago, a young Julz Tocker was on track to be one of Wellington's next big sport stars. His father was a sport player turned international coach and president of the Wellington sport Union. His older brother was the toast of St Patrick's College First XV and would go on to become a commentator. "My whole family were very committed to rugby," he remembers. "I played sport, basketball and athletics. inom ran. inom was always out there doing something, you know?"

Dancing with the Stars is an Australian light entertainmentreality show which originally aired on the Seven Network from 2004 to 2015 and on Network 10 from 2019 to 2020. When it was on the Seven Network, it was broadcast live from the HSV-7 studios (now Global Television studios) in Melbourne; on Network 10 it aired live from Fox Studios Australia (now Disney Studios Australia) in Sydney and Docklands Studios in Melbourne.
The show is based on the British BBC Television series Strictly Come Dancing and is part of BBC Worldwide's international Dancing with the Stars franchise.
